Stocking Stuffers for Toddler Girls and Boys

Stocking Stuffers for Toddler Girls and Boys

Christmas stockings are a wonderful tradition. When we were kids we didn’t actually have a stocking, we had a pillowcase! On Christmas morning my brother and I would wake up and there at the end of the bed would be a pillowcase filled with gifts.

Whether your little ones have a sock, a stocking or a pillowcase I thought I’d round up some stocking stuffers for toddler girls and boys to inspire us this Christmas!

An Orange in the Toe

Don’t forget, before you start adding all your wonderful stocking stuffers to the stocking to put an orange or a clementine in the toe.

Why?

Because it’s tradition.

Legend has it that a poor man had three beautiful daughters but no money for a dowry. He worried what would happen to them after he died.

Saint Nicholas was passing through the village and heard of the man’s plight. He knew the man would not accept charity so that night he went to the house and threw three bags of gold in through the window, and one of the bags landed in a stocking.

Since that time parents have placed an orange in the toe of the stocking before filling it to signify that bag of gold. (Source)
